Matchday six set for action-packed football festival at FIFA Football For Hope Centre By Fungai Muderere fungai.muderere@bmetro.co.zw FOOTBALL fever is expected to grip Bulawayo’s Gwabalanda today, as Matchday six of the local Five-A-Aside league delivers a full day of football entertainment at the Fifa Football For Hope Centre. From women’s football to Premier Division and Division One battles, supporters are in for a packed programme featuring rising talent, fierce rivalries and a strong community football atmosphere. The day kicks off early with official vetting and the national anthem ceremony at 08:45 AM, setting a respectful and ceremonial tone before the first whistle signals the start of a busy schedule. The Women’s Division opens proceedings with TNS Rovers Queens taking on GD5 Princess FC at 9am. Attention will then shift to NUST Falcons, who face Street Set at 11am in another exciting women’s encounter expected to showcase pace and flair. The Premier Division promises a steady flow of competitive action throughout the morning and afternoon. SOBUS’A FC go up against Young Stars FC at 10am, before GD5 FC square off with NUST FC at 11am in a fixture that is expected to draw plenty of attention. At 12:45pm, Fox FC and Amabhubesi FC meet in what could prove to be one of the tighter contests of the day, with both sides eager to stamp authority in the middle of the table. The afternoon will continue with Nedbank FC taking on TNS Rovers FC at 3pm, wrapping up a busy Premier Division programme. Division One action adds further depth to the football marathon, with SOBUS’A FC returning later in the day to face Amabhubesi Jrs FC at 12:30pm. Southwonder FC will meet Elite Institute FC at 1:30pm, before Inkunzi Emnyama FC lock horns with Combined Stars FC at 2pm in another highly anticipated clash. The curtain will come down on Matchday six under the floodlights of a late kick-off, as Mictech Stars FC take on Academic Stars FC at 5pm in what promises to be a fitting finale to a full day of football. All matches will be staged at the FIFA Hope Centre in Gwabalanda, which continues to grow its reputation as a key hub for Five-A-Aside grassroots and community football development in Bulawayo. Organisers, chief among them being Five-A-Aside national chairman Philani Banda, have urged supporters to turn up in numbers, with Matchday six expected to deliver not just football, but a vibrant community sporting experience from morning to evening.
